Apartment rental prices have risen to a record high in Russia

Over the year, the average price for renting a 1-room apartment in Russian megacities increased by 15 percent, to 23.2 thousand rubles. This data is provided by analysts at Tsian.
Prices for rental housing increased most in Vladivostok, Volgograd and Chelyabinsk. In the capital, rental prices have increased by 5 percent over the year. At the same time, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the number of apartments offered on the market is now two times lower than in September last year.
Experts stated that the average monthly rent for 1-room and 2-room apartments in the country (34.8 thousand rubles) is at a record high. “A reduction in average rates is possible after the supply volume begins to grow,” suggests Alexey Popov, head of Cyan.Analytics.
Previously, it was reported that the price of renting apartments in Moscow, which are usually rented by students, increased by 20-40 percent over the year and amounted to at least 30 thousand rubles per month. For example, for a student at HSE, renting housing near the university costs 75 thousand rubles a month, and for a student at Moscow State Law Academy – 74 thousand.
