“Anti-War Committee of Russia” recognized as an undesirable organization – Kommersant

State Duma deputy from the LDPR Andrei Lugovoi said that the “Anti-War Committee of Russia,” created on the initiative of Garry Kasparov and Mikhail Khodorkovsky (both declared foreign agents), was included by the Prosecutor General’s Office in the list of undesirable organizations.

As the parliamentarian said in his Telegram channelthe department recognized the activities of the “Anti-War Committee of Russia” as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation after its parliamentary request.

He attached to the publication a photo of the official response from the Prosecutor General’s Office, from which it follows that the “Anti-War Committee” was recognized as undesirable in Russia on January 11. According to the department’s response, two more anti-war associations are considered undesirable – Russie-Libertes (France) and La Asociacion de Rusos Libres (Spain). As deputy Andrei Lugovoy noted, the organization created several political projects aimed at “destroying the integrity of our country, educating oppositionists and inciting revolutionary sentiments.”

On the website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the Anti-War Committee is not currently listed on the list of undesirable organizations.

The “Russian Anti-War Committee” was created a few days after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. In addition to Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Garry Kasparov, its participants included economists Sergei Aleksashenko and Sergei Guriev, politicians Leonid Gozman, Vladimir Kara-Murza, Dmitry Gudkov and Mikhail Kasyanov, gallery owner Marat Gelman, entrepreneurs Boris Zimin and Evgeny Chichvarkin (all of them were declared foreign agents).
