Anthrax outbreak recorded in northern Kazakhstan

In the north of Kazakhstan, in the village of Ushkarasu, Akmola region, an outbreak of anthrax was recorded. As a result, 12 people were hospitalized, according to the press service of the regional veterinary department.
The medical staff sent all those hospitalized to the infectious diseases department of the Esil regional hospital. In addition, 22 contact persons were identified and are under medical supervision. On the basis of clinical manifestations and laboratory data, they were diagnosed with anthrax.
Quarantine was declared in the village, the police put outfits at the entrances to the village.
The sanitary service is taking anti-epidemic measures, and contact persons are under medical supervision.
The press service also reported that disinfection was carried out in all the tested outbreaks.
