Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as part of the Transport Week taking place in Moscow, launched traffic along a 153-kilometer section of the M-12 Vostok highway between the cities of Shumerlya (Chuvashia) and the federal road P-241 Kazan-Ulyanovsk (Tatarstan). Travel around the entire section costs 785 rubles. for passenger cars and 1.3–1.84 thousand rubles. for trucks.

M-12, let us remind you, has been under construction since 2020. Now most of it is open, by the end of 2024 the authorities will launch traffic along the Arzamas-Shumerlya sections and to Kazan. In 2024, the road will be extended to Yekaterinburg due to the reconstruction of the M-7 highway and the construction of new toll sections (Naberezhnye Chelny bypass, Dyurtyuli-Achit). Later M-12 will be extended to Tyumen.

Yesterday, an 11-kilometer section of the R-217 Caucasus highway (after repair), a 15-kilometer section of the federal road R-242 Perm-Ekaterinburg in the Sverdlovsk region (after major repairs with expansion to four lanes) and a 5-kilometer section of the R-21 “Kola” road in the Murmansk region (after reconstruction).
