Astrakhan deputies decided to apply euthanasia to stray dogs
In Astrakhan, deputies almost unanimously adopted a law on the use of euthanasia for stray dogs. The portal reported this Astrakhanpost.
According to the new bill, caught stray animals will be placed in temporary detention centers for 15 days. If the dog’s owner does not show up within two weeks, painless euthanasia will be applied to the animal.
It is worth noting that not all dogs will be euthanized. If one of the volunteers or charitable foundations pays for the maintenance of a stray dog, then it can live peacefully in a shelter.
