Angry Birds will be removed from Google Play

The Angry Birds mobile game will be removed from Google Play on February 23rd. This was announced by the Finnish developer of computer games Rovio (the creator of Angry Birds) on Twitter.
“We have reviewed the business case for Rovio Classics: Angry Birds, given the game’s impact on our diverse gaming portfolio, we have made the decision to remove the app from Google Play on Thursday, February 23rd,” the post reads.
In addition, the game will be renamed Red’s First Flight in the App Store, its fate will be decided later, the company said. It is noted that the previously downloaded Rovio Classics: Angry Birds will be available on the device even after its removal from Google Play.
The company thanked the fans for their dedication to the game and expressed the hope that they will show interest in other games in the Angry Birds universe.
The first version of Angry Birds was released for the iPhone in 2009. Later, a browser version of the application appeared, and the company also developed a version for Android. According to the rules of the game, users need to launch birds with a slingshot at green pigs placed on various structures.
After the success of the original game, the creators have released more than ten expansions and versions of Angry Birds. There are also versions of the game for the console and devices of VR, AR and MR realities. In addition, the franchise has two full-length cartoons and several animated series based on the game.
