Economist Andrey Yakovlev announced his resignation from the Higher School of Economics (HSE). He has worked at the university since its foundation in 1993. According to Mr. Yakovlev on Facebook (owned by the extremist and banned in the Russian Federation Meta), the reason for leaving is “the expiration of the contract.”
Andrey Yakovlev joined the HSE in 1993 as Vice-Rector for Science, which he held for over 18 years. He also headed the Institute for Enterprise and Market Analysis, the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development. In the past, he was a member of the Academic Council of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
In his first year at the HSE, Mr. Yakovlev created the Department of Economics of the Firm, on the basis of which the Faculty of Management was later formed. Within the faculty, he also organized the Department of Marketing.
August 11 about his departure from HSE informed Doctor of Economic Sciences Igor Lipsits, who has also worked at the university since its foundation. Mr. Lipsitz, who has been living abroad for the past three years, explained that the HSE management canceled his contract for remote work.
