Andrey Turchak: “The gasification program implemented by the United Russia party made it possible to connect 400 thousand houses to gas for free”

In total, more than a million applications were submitted for participation in the presidential program and accepted.

Social gasification has become one of the most discussed projects on the sidelines of the XII International Gas Forum, which is taking place these days in St. Petersburg. Since last year, the presidential program has become unlimited; in addition to private households, social facilities have also been connected to it. On Wednesday, November 1, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party Andrei Turchak, together with the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller, via video link, connected new facilities in 18 regions to the networks – houses, schools, boiler houses, agricultural enterprises.

At the opening of the event for the commissioning of facilities for the development of gas supply and gasification of the regions of PJSC Gazprom and the connection of additional gasification programs for households and social facilities, Andrei Turchak said that the program that United Russia is implementing together with Gazprom Mezhregiongaz on behalf of the President, has already allowed 400 thousand homes to be connected to gas free of charge. More than a million applications were submitted for participation in the program and accepted.

“Literally at the beginning of October, we connected the first social facilities to the networks, which now, by decision of the head of state, are also participating in the social gasification program. We estimate the potential of this area to be three thousand institutions – schools, paramedic stations, cultural centers. Today, 500 such facilities are already in line for gas connections. The task that the President sets for us is to ensure, under the additional gasification program, 100 percent gas connection of houses and social facilities wherever this is technically possible. I thank the heads of the constituent entities who personally headed the headquarters in their regions and control this issue, our deputies who provide residents with advisory support and targeted help in case of any difficulties, the management of Gazprom and our colleagues there for their joint work on this program,” – said Turchak.

In 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law amended by United Russia on free delivery of gas to sites. The head of state instructed the regions to provide subsidies in the amount of at least 100 thousand rubles for a number of categories of beneficiaries for the purchase of gas equipment. Their number, at the suggestion of the head of the working group on the North Military District, Andrei Turchak, also included participants in the special operation.

United Russia also proposed extending measures to support beneficiaries during social gasification throughout the country and standardizing the cost of a minimum set of equipment for a number of categories of citizens.

On December 1, 2022, the program for social gasification of regions became unlimited and extended to social facilities. These include kindergartens, schools, clinics, hospitals, first aid stations, general practitioners’ departments and medical outpatient clinics located in already gasified settlements. Such institutions will no longer have to pay for the construction of a gas pipeline to the boundaries of the land plots on which they are located, as well as for connecting buildings to gas distribution networks. On October 10 this year, the first social facilities were connected to gas under the social additional gasification program.

“For social facilities, this is not only a more environmentally friendly source of energy, but also a noticeably cheaper one. The saved funds can be used for other important tasks for institutions. Social facilities have been included in the additional gasification program on behalf of the President since last year. Potentially, up to three thousand educational, health and cultural institutions across the country, mainly in rural areas, will be able to take part in it,” Turchak reported in October.

It was United Russia, through Andrei Turchak, who supported the president and declared the need for total gasification. It was “United Russia” that declared the need for 100% connection to the gas supply of all houses and social facilities, developed, in cooperation with Gazprom and other structures, a program for additional gasification and is consistently implementing it. Andrey Turchak, declaring the leading role of United Russia in the implementation of this large-scale national program, is adequate and accurate,” commented APEC General Director Dmitry Orlov.
