Over the past year, the volume of assistance to patients at the regional vascular center based at the Sklifosovsky Institute increased by 25%, and in just 10 years of operation, assistance was provided to more than 40 thousand people. These are patients with strokes, heart attacks and other vascular pathologies.

“For high-tech care for patients with any cardiovascular pathologies, 10 years ago we created a heart attack network, and a few years later – a stroke network. Today it includes more than 20 hospitals in Moscow, including the Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after. N.V. Sklifosovsky. Over 10 years, its regional vascular center has provided assistance to more than 40 thousand patients,” said Vice Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

In March last year, a flagship was also opened, which significantly expanded the capabilities of the RSC. Since then, the number of patients admitted has increased by a quarter: from 9.7 thousand people in 2022 to 12 thousand last year. In addition, thanks to the developed algorithms, the journey of a patient with vascular disorders takes a matter of minutes.

Today, the RSC of the Sklifosovsky Institute has all the equipment to provide the highest quality care. These include CT machines and fully equipped neurosurgical and cardiac surgery operating rooms.
