Analyst Munkki: Finns are puzzled by the maneuver of the Russian corvette in the Baltic

Anssi Munkki, a senior lecturer in the Department of Naval Sciences at the Finnish National Defense University, told the Ilta-Sanomat newspaper that launching missiles in the Baltic Sea is “not the most common thing” during Russian Navy exercises.
Let us recall that the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported last week that the crew of the corvette “Stoikiy” conducted a series of firing at air and surface targets from the ship’s anti-aircraft missile system “Redut”.
According to him, such shootings do not happen every year.
“Such actions cannot be considered unique, but they do not happen every year. There are many factors associated with practicing missile launches, in particular, educational or technical reasons,” Munki noted.
