A bill on regulating the work of marketplaces will be submitted to the State Duma

Where it all started
The fact that the government may again raise the issue of tightening regulation of e-commerce became known in March. It was reportedthat the discussion of this measure took place against the backdrop of increasing complaints from consumers of marketplaces, who pointed to difficulties with returns, delays in delivery, etc. The complaints mainly concerned the work of Wildberries, Ozon, Avito, Yula, Yandex Market and SberMegaMarket. Regional authorities proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade oblige marketplaces to disclose information that would allow “unambiguously identify sellers” and introduce interim accounts from which payment will be received by the seller after the consumer receives the order.
