In secondary school No. 17 in the city of Dalnegorsk, four cases of tuberculosis among students were confirmed. Diaskintests (a drug for diagnosing active or latent tuberculosis infection) gave positive results to another 53 schoolchildren, reports Telegram channel KGBUZ “Dalnegorsk Central City Hospital”.

Four sick people are being treated at the Primorsky Regional Children’s Clinical Phthisiopulmonology Center. Students who tested positive were given a CT scan of their lungs. “All these children have already been examined, the disease has not been identified, and they have been recommended to undergo courses of preventive treatment, which they will receive either in our departments or on an outpatient basis,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Health quotes the chief physician of the Primorye Children’s Regional Clinical Phthisiopulmonology Center, Svetlana Osina. It is clarified that eight students are already in rehabilitation, and four more will join them in the near future.

The source of the spread of infection, according to Primorye media, is one of the school employees. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Primorsky Regional Tuberculosis Dispensary. Meanwhile, the Primorye prosecutor’s office reported that “the source of the spread of the disease is being established.” “Separately, information will be checked that this could be an employee of the catering unit – an employee of an individual entrepreneur organizing school meals,”— informs supervisory agency.

Tomorrow, April 17, at school No. 17 in Dalnegorsk it is planned to carry out disinfection measures by employees of the Ussuriysk disinfection station. Schoolchildren will be transferred to distance learning during sanitization.
