— Every international start is important for us, especially when it takes place in the Krasnodar Territory. The goal of the Gelendzhik Regatta is to combine sports and event components in order to become a vibrant and large-scale festival,” said the region’s Minister of Sports, Serafim Timchenko, at the opening of the competition.
Yachtsmen competed in fourteen sailing disciplines. A total of 41 sets of medals were awarded. The biggest prize of the regatta – a racing dinghy “Optimist” with an international license – was awarded by the general partner to the winner in the most popular class – “Optimist” (in the category up to sixteen years old) – Egor Kharlamov.
