The training on the topic “Fundamentals of Effective Communication” was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk as part of the project “I Contribute to the Development of My Island”, of which Sakhalin Energy is a partner. The training event was conducted by Alexandra Sokolova, FIFA Certified Sports Manager, Head of the Event Management and Spectator Services Department of the Russian Football Union.
In addition, the expert participated in the organization of such large-scale sports events as the Olympic Games in Sochi (2014), the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Russia (2015-2016) and the FIFA World Cup in Russia (2018).
The training program consisted of two thematic blocks. First, its participants figured out what mass events are, how significant services are for spectators during them, and what role volunteers play in large-scale events. The second block of the training concerned the interaction of volunteers with each other and with the audience. The importance of teamwork, actions in critical situations, issues of feedback and effective communication were discussed. The received theoretical material was consolidated during practical classes.
Communication with Alexandra Sokolova allowed the volunteers of “Mountain Air” to get a lot of interesting and popular information, becoming a powerful incentive for further personal development.
