After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, he published several posts criticizing the military operation, and at the beginning of April last year he wrote a statement about the early termination of his powers as a deputy. “I do not agree with today’s government policy and do not intend to participate in it,” Sergei Zakharov explained his position on social networks.
