An athlete from Egvekinot became the best in the triple jump at the competition

The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug team won the first trophy at the All-Russian Nordic all-around competition in Krasnoyarsk. Egvekinot resident Dmitry Bocharov became the best at the tournament in the triple jump with two-legged take-off. In the same discipline, Anita Kaetchai from the same locality fulfilled the standard for candidate master of sports, reports Chukotka news agency.
The district is represented by three juniors from Bilibino and four from Egvekinot. The team included athletes aged 14 to 17 years, who showed the best results at the last regional competitions.
“We lost a lot of time due to the covid pandemic, when our guys practically didn’t go to competitions. Now we have begun to catch up. In physical training, the district team is not inferior to its rivals, but lack of experience and stress have a strong impact,” said the correspondent. On the first day, participants competed in a triple jump with a two-legged takeoff. Dmitry Bocharov became the best at the tournament. His result was 10 meters 51 cm. Anita Kaetchay became seventh, but managed to fulfill the standard of a candidate for master of sports. Her result is 7 meters 61 cm.
On November 2, the most enduring ones were determined in running with a stick. Junior girls covered a distance of 2 km, and juniors ran a kilometer more. Here, members of the ChAO team took from 13 to 38 places. The best result was shown by Bilibino resident Nina Gulkinkeu.
On November 3, a long-distance ax throwing took place. The organizers plan to sum up the results of the athletes’ performances in the evening. In the last days of the tournament, the best will be revealed in throwing the tynzian on a trochee and jumping over a sled.
All-Russian Nordic all-around competitions are taking place in the multifunctional sports complex “Raduga” in the city of Krasnoyarsk from November 1 to 6. Teams from the Kamchatka and Krasnoyarsk territories, Magadan and Sakhalin regions, Yakutia, Khanty-Mansiysk, Chukotka and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts are competing for the tournament trophies. A total of 73 athletes are participating in the competition: 42 boys and 31 girls.
