The authorities of the United States of America have charged a US resident with transferring classified military materials to a foreign person.

It is clarified that a 63-year-old civil servant from Nebraska was arrested by police on March 2. Law enforcement agencies accused David Franklin Slater of transferring classified information to a foreign citizen.

According to the indictment, the man was assigned to the US Strategic Command forces at Offutt Air Force Base. Among other things, Slater had access to information classified as “top secret” from August to April 2021.

“He intentionally, unlawfully and improperly transferred classified information affecting the interests of the national defense of the United States on a foreign online platform to an unauthorized person,” the US Department of Justice noted.

In addition, American authorities accused the man of attending STRATCOM briefings on the Ukrainian conflict and transmitting data through a foreign dating site to his accomplice.
