Popular American journalist Jackson Hinkle was detained by law enforcement officers upon entering the United States, when he was returning from a visit to the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports, citing Hinkle himself.

He reported the arrest on the social network X.

“I was just detained for questioning by US Border Patrol after spending the past month in Russia reporting on the war in Ukraine,” Hinkle wrote. He also recalled his American citizenship and stated that he was being “attacked by the deep state.”

The journalist was later released, which he also reported on social networks.

During his visit to the Russian Federation, Hinkle gave interviews to major Russian media. In a video on his Youtube channel, he said a lot of positive things about Moscow, noting that “there is nothing like this in America.”
