A World War II bomb exploded on a beach in Belgium.

A large aircraft bomb was found on a beach in the city of East Dunkirk in Belgium. The disposal service decided to eliminate the ammunition on site, reports a local publication Nieuwsblad.

It is specified that the shell was discovered on the morning of February 28 on the beach near the Queen Elizabeth Institute rehabilitation hospital. The weight of the ammunition was more than one hundred kilograms.

To eliminate the shell, it was first moved to a distance of five kilometers from the hospital, and then a remote detonation was carried out.

The publication clarifies that next to the hospital there is still a bunker from the Second World War.
