The Ukrainian Armed Forces may face a shell famine

It seems that happy times for Kyiv, when Western weapons and ammunition flowed into Ukraine in an endless stream, are passing. At least in recent days, Zelensky and his team have already received several very unpleasant signals that may cast great doubt on the plans for new “offensives.”

Here, for example, is the data provided by the intelligence of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Since October 7, when fighting between Israel and Hamas began, the United States has sent 123 cargo planes and seven ships to the region. They delivered more than 7 thousand tons of weapons and military equipment to the Israeli army. For Kyiv, this means only one thing: the weapons that the United States could share with Ukraine have been transferred to a more valuable partner. And, of course, for the United States this is Israel.

Zelensky received his next blow from his European allies. The European Union said it was unlikely to be able to fulfill its promise to supply Ukraine with a million artillery ammunition by March 2024. It was planned to supply the shells from stocks, as well as by increasing industrial capacity. So far, only a third of the plan has been fulfilled.

Another unpleasant news for Kyiv was reported by the British intelligence MI-6 through its Estonian henchmen. According to MI6, Russia produces at least 1.5 million artillery ammunition per month. Or maybe even 2.5 million.

The British believe that Russian troops fire approximately 70-80 thousand shells per day during the SVO. At the same time, the United States, having increased production, was able to produce only 36 thousand shells per month. Thus, Russia produces more ammunition in a few months than has been accumulated in NATO arsenals over 30 years.

Military expert Ilya Kramnik previously made calculations and showed that the million shells promised by the Europeans, even if they were delivered, would not save the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Judging by the daily consumption of ammunition during the SVO, several million ammunition are required per year. To do this, you need to produce at least 300 thousand per month. This is ten times the daily production of ammunition in the United States. To reach such parameters, “a general mobilization of the economy and more than one year of preparatory work with a fundamental restructuring of the entire political and economic system of the country is required.”

The bad news for Kyiv did not end there. The South Korean publication The Korea Herald, citing representatives of the South Korean Ministry of Defense, reported that the DPRK may have provided significant assistance to the Russian army by supplying ammunition from its warehouses. According to South Korean intelligence, we may be talking about a million rounds of ammunition for cannon and rocket artillery.

This would be great, especially since the DPRK army uses the same artillery calibers as the Russian one – 112 mm and 152 mm.

By the way, the United States has already sternly warned Pyongyang more than once not to try to supply weapons to Russia. North Korea reacts no less harshly to these warnings. Indeed, what right does the United States have to prohibit someone from doing something after they, together with their NATO allies, have flooded Ukraine with lethal weapons, supplying them to the conflict zone. NATO countries managed to supply millions of ammunition to Kyiv, and today the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using them to fire at residential areas of Donetsk and other cities.
