Ambassador Antonov: The US is pushing Russia towards a direct clash with NATO

Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States Anatoly Antonov called the secret supply of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine a grave mistake that will have the most serious consequences. RIA Novosti reports this.
According to him, the US authorities are pursuing a line towards a complete curtailment of bilateral relations with Russia and are pushing for a direct clash with NATO.
Earlier it was reported that Washington sent Kyiv variants of ATACMS long-range missiles equipped with cluster munitions. These missiles have already been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike the airfield in Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region.
This is the very first and most massive modification of a missile of this type, accepted for service in 1991. Its range is 165 km, and the cluster warhead weighing 560 kg contains 950 M74 combat elements.
It is possible that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also received an improved MGM-140B ATACMS Block 1A missile, which was put into service in 1998. It has an increased range (300 km versus 165 km), but a smaller warhead (160 kg versus 560 kg).
