On the first day of the new year, the “Run of Promises” sports event was held in Veliky Novgorod; almost 200 people took part in it, as reported in the NovgorodRun running club group on the VKontakte social network.
Fans of outdoor activities gathered at the Victory Monument, received bib numbers, wrote promises on them and ran a symbolic distance through the Kremlin Park – 2024 meters.
The mayor of the city, Alexander Rozbaum, also joined the race. On his number he wrote a promise to be stronger in the new year.
The organizers of the event, the running club NovgorodRun, have already invited citizens to the next “Run of Promises”, which will take place on January 1, 2025.
