The upcoming anniversary of Alla Pugacheva, it seems, will be the most modest in history. In the old days, all of Alla Pugacheva’s anniversaries on TV were celebrated for almost a week. All major television channels broadcast holiday programs dedicated to the Prima Donna: sometimes several a day. Russian channels even staged a battle among themselves, fighting over who Pugacheva would come to celebrate her anniversary. They paid a substantial fee for appearing on TV on Alla’s anniversary. Alla Pugacheva, of course, always liked attention to her person. The prima donna took part in the filming of the anniversary programs with undisguised pleasure. This year, no major anniversary programs about Pugacheva are planned on central TV. Television management secretly announced a boycott of Pugacheva. There are no plans to feature stories about Pugacheva’s anniversary even in programs dedicated to gossip columns and show business.

Now there is nothing even close to that. Everyone on TV understands that Pugacheva’s appearance on the screen will cause popular anger.
