All-Russian youth bandy competitions have started in Arkhangelsk. This is the preliminary stage of big competitions. Youth teams participate in it
from Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Sverdlovsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Moscow, the Komi Republic and Tatarstan. The competition consists of two stages. As part of the first, all participants are divided into two groups, after the games in which play-off matches will be held. Based on their results, the three strongest ice squads will advance to the finals. This was reported by the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region.
Our region is represented at the tournament by students of the Olympic reserve sports school “Pomorye” – the “Vodnik-2008” team. In the first match, the northerners lost to Rodina Kirov – 2:4, and in the next game against the Nizhny Novgorod region team they tied the score – 1:1. Despite the loss of points, the northerners still have a chance to advance to the next round of the competition.
The tournament will end in Arkhangelsk on January 29.
