All-Russian freestyle wrestling competitions began in Shchekin

On November 24, the All-Russian freestyle wrestling competition in memory of the holder of the Order of Courage Andrei Kunin began in the city of Shchekino, Tula region. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
300 boys and girls from a number of regions of Russia announced their participation in the tournament – Moscow, Volgograd, as well as Belgorod, in addition, Smolensk, Oryol, Bryansk, Kaluga, Voronezh, and finally, Tula region. Among the republics represented at the competition are Dagestan, Ingushetia, the Komi Republic, traditionally strong in wrestling, as well as Chechnya and Yakutia.
Athletes will identify the strongest wrestler under the age of 16 in several weight categories. The prestigious all-Russian tournament is being held for the 12th time. The prize-winners will be determined based on the results of wrestling matches on Saturday, November 25.
