According to doctors, there are two types of stress: positive and negative. The first is called eustress. It increases the endurance of the body. Such types of stress include, for example, a wedding or the birth of a child. Distress is a negative type of stress, in which the body’s defenses are depleted, various diseases occur, up to death. It is with distress in an increased amount that hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol begin to be produced. Therefore, the cardiovascular system begins to work in an unusual mode: the heartbeat and blood pressure increase, blood clots can form, microelements such as potassium and magnesium are washed out through the kidneys. And this leads to insomnia, a decrease in human performance, the risk of developing a heart attack.

According to the therapist Elizaveta Ebzeeva, if a person is stressed, he needs to drink vitamins such as potassium and magnesium, because they reduce the concentration of stress hormones. Moreover, the course of their admission should be at least a month. In this case, potassium will ensure the stable functioning of the heart, and magnesium can prevent vasospasm and improve their elasticity.

Another “method” of dealing with stress is maintaining a healthy lifestyle, in particular, full sleep – at least seven hours, physical activity – running, swimming, walking up the stairs, balanced nutrition – the inclusion in the diet of foods such as bananas, turkey meat, cheese, wholemeal bread, liver, eggs, milk, as well as foods rich in vitamin C (rose hips, black currants, sea buckthorn, kiwi, strawberries, citrus fruits, apples), raw vegetable salads and fresh fruit juices.

Doctors also say that communication with loved ones, discussing their problems with them, as well as contacting professional psychologists and psychotherapists can become a defense against stress.
