Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with US State Department chief adviser on negotiations in the Caucasus, Philip Reeker, with whom he discussed the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, Aliyev told a representative of the US Foreign Ministry that the Armenian Armed Forces carried out “large-scale provocations” on the Kalbajar, Lachin and Zangilan directions of the border, after which Azerbaijan took retaliatory actions.
“The entire responsibility for the provocations that took place lies with the political and military leadership of Armenia,” Aliyev said.
Recall that Armenia accused Azerbaijan of shelling its territories, which are not related to Karabakh. The ceasefire was achieved thanks to the efforts of Russia. Both sides reported casualties
