Alexey Navalny is buried at the Borisov Cemetery in Moscow – Kommersant

The funeral of politician Alexei Navalny took place at the Borisov Cemetery in Moscow. Before the funeral, funeral and farewell ceremonies took place in the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Quench My Sorrows” in the Maryino district. Parents, acquaintances and supporters of the deceased came. The widow and children were not seen at the farewell.

“RIA News” reported that the ceremony was also attended by US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy, German Ambassador Alexander Lambsdorff, French Ambassador Pierre Levy, as well as the ambassadors of Canada, Ireland, Greece, Poland, Belgium and Austria.

The death of Alexei Navalny in IK-3 “Polar Wolf” was reported on February 16 by the FSIN department for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. There he served his sentence in the case of creating an extremist community – 19 years of strict regime. He had previously been convicted of other crimes, including fraud. The message from the Federal Penitentiary Service said that after the walk, Navalny felt unwell and lost consciousness. The body of Alexei Navalny handed over his mother on February 24.
