Former Russian politician and blogger Alexei Navalny (listed as terrorists and extremists) was buried on Friday, March 1, at the Borisov Cemetery in Moscow.
The funeral service and farewell were also held on Friday.
Navalny’s death occurred on February 16. This was reported by the department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. They stated that he became ill while walking. The doctors who arrived at the scene tried for a long time to save his life, but to no avail. As a result, doctors declared death.
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on Navalny’s funeral today. However, he warned citizens taking part in this against unauthorized actions, as otherwise they will be held accountable for their actions.
