Deputy head of the National Guard of the DPR Khodakovsky: Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to attempt a deep breakthrough of Russian defense

The Ukrainian army concentrated up to 40 battalions in the Orekhovo-Polozhsky direction with the aim of “rushing along the Orekhov-Tokmak vector”, declared on Sunday, Deputy Head of the National Guard of the DPR Alexander Khodakovsky in Telegram. He noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for an attempt at a “deep breakthrough” of Russian defense.

At the same time, Khodakovsky believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “understanding our capabilities for delivering missile and bomb strikes against clusters,” most likely “will continue the tactics of a creeping offensive with limited forces.” This will continue until they “understand that favorable conditions have been created for the commissioning of the main reserves, intended for a subsequent throw deep into our territories.”

Khodakovsky also did not rule out a simultaneous attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike in the direction of Energodar in order to capture the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Earlier, the head of the movement “We are with Russia” Volodymyr Rogov said that Ukrainian troops were preparing for a second attempt at a large-scale counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye region.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting a counteroffensive since June 4, but none of their attempts have been successful. Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev said that as of June 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had lost about 13 thousand people during the offensive.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that “the counteroffensive is going slower than we would like.”
