Alec Baldwin decided to declare his innocence to the court in the murder of cameraman Galina Hutchins

Actor Alec Baldwin said he does not admit guilt in the death of cameraman Galina Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.” The tragedy occurred in 2021. He also refused to appear in person at the preliminary hearing in the case.

In October 2021, Baldwin, during a rehearsal on the set of the western film Rust, fired a pistol that accidentally turned out to be loaded not with blanks, but with live ammunition. As a result, a native of Ukraine, Hutchins, died, and the director of the film, Joel Souza, was seriously injured. The actor claimed that he did not pull the trigger of the gun, and the shot occurred spontaneously.

Baldwin was charged with manslaughter; prosecutors later withdrew the charges, but did not rule out filing them again.

In January it became known that the actor was again charged. According to the publication VarietyIf convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
