Aksyonov spoke about the construction of a non-standard defense line in the Crimea

Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov said in an interview “RIA News”that the construction of a defensive line in the region is proceeding according to plan, taking into account the combat experience of military personnel.

Mr. Aksyonov said that the regional authorities are approaching the construction of fortifications in a non-standard and “asymmetrical” way. He clarified that this topic cannot be fully disclosed in the public field.

“Therefore, I say again: God protects the safe. And I always stand in the position: if you want peace, prepare for war. So we’d better be ready. Both the Crimeans and all of Russia will sleep peacefully in this respect,” the head of the republic concluded.

Mr. Aksenov informed about the beginning of the construction of a defensive line in the Crimea in November last year. The Crimean authorities stated that the fortifications were planned to be completed by mid-April. On February 22, the head of the region announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin approved fortification of the Crimea.
