Aksenov limited the work of migrants in Crimea – Kommersant

Labor migration should become more controlled, and lawbreakers are guaranteed to be expelled from Russia, said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, announcing a local tightening of migration legislation. In total, the republic has a ban on hiring migrants in 35 types of economic activities.

According to him, by May 1, the authorities of the peninsula will prepare legislative initiatives to tighten sanctions and liability, up to criminal liability, for violating the rules of stay and subsequent expulsion of foreigners who have violated Russian laws.

In Crimea, Mr. Aksenov noted, law enforcement officers identified more than 500 people who violated migration legislation. Of these, about 100 worked illegally.

In this regard, local authorities will soon take measures that will streamline the situation.

“Now, according to decree, the patent for temporary work for foreigners will indicate their profession. Also accepted decree, establishing a ban on the involvement of foreign citizens working on the basis of patents in certain areas. Labor migration must become more controlled, and lawbreakers are guaranteed to be expelled from Russia,” Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the documents, Crimean employers will not be able to attract migrants to the transport sector, agriculture and food production, the supply of natural resources and public utilities, trade (except for cars), education, IT and media, telecommunications, etc.
