The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that the peninsula is considering the possibility of building a new Martovsky reservoir in the Bakhchisaray district “because there were no other sources of water in Yalta.” According to him, this will ensure additional pumping of water to the Schastlivenskoye and Zagorskoye reservoirs, which are used to supply water to Yalta through a water tunnel through a mountain range.
Aksenov said that the issue of building a new Solnechnogorsk reservoir for the needs of the Alushta region is under discussion: “If the pipe is cheaper to throw, then we will do it like this. If the reservoir, there is just a large amount of land work.”
Prior to the unblocking of the North Crimean Canal in Crimea, the possibility of building two new reservoirs was discussed – in addition to Solnechnogorsk to improve the water supply of Alushta, also for the needs of Simferopol, next to the existing Simferopol.
