After the boycott of Kirkorov, Uspenskaya faces trial due to her participation in the New Year’s lights

Before the scandal with the boycott of Philip Kirkorov on TV had died down, a new one suddenly broke out. This time it was the sworn friend of the King of Pop, Lyubov Uspenskaya, who distinguished herself. In the New Year’s Eve on Channel One, the singer, who is called the “queen of chanson” in the crowd, performed her main hit of recent years – “Pole Pole”. This fact outraged the author of the words and music of the composition, Natalya Lapina. As MK learned, she is already preparing a lawsuit.

“I didn’t give Uspenskaya any permission to perform the song “Along the Pole” in the New Year’s light,” says Natalya. “She’s been singing my hit for three years now, brazenly violating copyright. The fact is that Uspenskaya does not consider it necessary to pay the author. My lawyer will soon file a claim against her and the channel for copyright infringement.

“As an author, I’m offended that Uspenskaya continues to earn money from “Polyushku”, performing it at all concerts, but I don’t get anything from it,” continues Lapina. “I was told that this time the channel aired at least indicated the author of the composition, that is, me.” As for Uspenskaya, she does not have the copyright to “Polyushku”, so this song has recently been performed by other artists who pay for it. For example, the duet Rimskie and singer Akmal. They entered into an agreement with my lawyer and make payments for each broadcast.

Lapina tried to resolve the problems with the payment of royalties amicably. But Uspenskaya refused to seek a compromise.

“I would continue to write to Uspenskaya: you see that in three years she hasn’t had a single big hit,” says Lapina. — I have many compositions that she could perform. But after her attitude towards me as an author, I don’t want to get involved with her. I’m currently writing music for American cinema. I’ve been doing this for a long time – I like it.
