After a year of disqualification, Kaluga gymnast Ivan Kulyak took bronze at the Russian Cup. Artistic gymnastics competitions are being held in Sochi, Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha reports on Friday, September 1.
“These competitions were the first start for Ivan Kulyak, a pupil of the sports school of the Olympic reserve L. Latynina, after the end of the disqualification. In the finals of the individual all-around, Ivan successfully passed all 6 rounds and won the bronze medal,” Shapsha said.
In total, 83 athletes from 23 regions of Russia and representatives of the Republic of Belarus participate in the competition.
The gold medal was won by Daniel Marinov from the Republic of Tatarstan, the silver medal was won by Sergey Naidin from the Altai Territory.
As previously reported, gymnast Ivan Kulyak from Obninsk entered the World Cup performance in Doha with the emblem Z. The disciplinary commission of the Gymnastic Ethics Foundation disqualified the athlete for a year.
