A mass brawl on the Gazprom Arena field last Sunday between the players of Zenit and Spartak ended with the disqualification of six players – three from each club. “MK in St. Petersburg” tracked down what happened and how they reacted to the decision of the RFU Control and Disciplinary Committee in the football world.

It was they who received red cards at the same time on the field, and today, December 1, they were disqualified for six games. But another name also appeared – Promes, the midfielder of the Muscovites, who, however, did not receive a removal from the field from the judge, although he was one of the instigators of the fight.

The RFU admitted that the referee mistakenly did not remove Promes from the field, as he provoked the opponent and made “an aggressive grip on the neck and a scratching movement of the opponent’s face” against Barrios. The judges also pointed out the mistake in Zenit, however, they intend to challenge the disqualification of their own wards there. Whether the right of appeal will be used in Spartak is still unknown.

The lack of punishment for Promes was surprised by the general director of Zenit, Alexander Medvedev. He noted that despite the conclusion of the ESC, the instigator-provocateur came out unscathed.

Malcom’s agent Luis Fernando Garcia called unfair the decision of the RFU regarding his ward.
