An Aeroflot Boeing 737 flying from Moscow made an emergency landing at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, reports Ministry of Emergency Situations. The airport announced a “technical reason” for the emergency, without providing details.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Sakhalin Region, the plane landed at 9:34 local time (1:34 Moscow time) at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport “without incident.” There were 14 crew members and 408 passengers on board the plane, the airport said.

“The landing was completed safely. The aircraft independently cleared the runway (artificial runway) along the taxiway and was then towed to the parking lot. During the inspection by specialists, a technical reason was identified and it is being eliminated,” the press service said (quoted by Interfax).

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the cause of the emergency landing was a flat landing gear tire in the nose of the plane, which caused a sharp drop in pressure in the right tire during the flight. It is planned that the plane will fly back to Moscow at 17:00 local time (9:00 Moscow time).
