The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the third, final reading a bill on the priority enrollment of foster children in one educational institution together with brothers and sisters.
The document was submitted for consideration by the Duma in June this year, it involves the introduction of amendments to the Family Code and the Law on Education.
According to the bill, a child, including an adopted child, as well as a child under guardianship and guardianship in a foster family, has the right to preferential admission to a state or municipal educational institution in which his brother or sister is already studying.
It is also noted that the document applies to full and half brothers and sisters with common parents, trustees and guardians.
