Reuters: Adidas decided to close the remaining outlets in Russia

Sportswear and footwear brand Adidas plans to close the remaining retail outlets in the Russian Federation. Reuters writes about it.

Brand CEO Bjorn Gulden said the corporation is now in the process of closing stores across the country. “We have about 100 stores that are not working, and, of course, they were offered to the market,” he clarified.

According to him, they can be bought by private entrepreneurs or taken on a sublease.

At the end of spring, it became known about the possible restoration of Adidas in the Russian Federation. Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Evtukhov said that so far there are no discussions about the return of the brand. He added that the resumption of the corporation’s work on the Russian market is possible.

Adidas has ceased operations in Russia along with other sportswear brands Puma and Nike.
