Activists placed a huge bolt in Shushary, south of St. Petersburg, on the territory of a park promised by the authorities. The art object appeared on an undeveloped site, where it was previously planned to equip a 13-hectare green area.
In the Noisy Shushary community on the social network “In contact with” it is noted that the park on this territory was promised to the local residents ten years ago. “This is exactly how long the authorities, together with the developer (IC Dalpiterstroy), put a “bolt” on the obligation to plant landscaping 13 hectares of land behind Starorussky Prospekt, allocated in the General Plan for a recreation area for residents,” the public message says.
Activists also point out that this year the promised park in Shushary “shrinked” on paper to 3 hectares, and the developer is allegedly trying to convert the remaining 10 hectares into residential multi-storey buildings. “And even that 1/4 of what they promised, they are in no particular hurry to give to the city for free,” the public activists say.
It was not possible to receive an official comment from the developer company at the time of preparing the material for publication.
