Actionist Krisevich sentenced to five years in prison for simulating suicide on Red Square

The Tver court sentenced the actionist Pavel Krisevich to five years in a general regime colony under the article “Hooliganism” (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Such a punishment was required by the state prosecution, explaining this by the fact that Pavel Krisevich “grossly violated public order.” June 11, 2021 he fired to his temple on Red Square with a blanked R-411 pistol, simulating suicide.

The actionist was accused of hooliganism committed with the use of weapons by a group of persons, by prior agreement (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). However, the judge ruled out hooliganism committed by a group of people from the charge. The judge also took into account the fact that this is Pavel Krisevich’s first criminal offense.

According to Pavel Krysevich himself, for the action he chose a place where there were no people, did not aim a gun at strangers and had no criminal intent. As Pavel Krisevich himself explained, his performance was aimed at “eliminating his own fear” of “political repression” in Russia. After the arrest, the actionist was in jail since June 13, 2021.

In November 2020, Pavel Krisevich, dressed as Jesus, tied himself to a cross in front of the FSB building on Lubyanka. After that, he was detained for 15 days, and then expelled from PFUR. That same year, he handcuffed himself to a fence near the First Western District Military Court.
