The Basmanny Court of Moscow decided to take into custody Tarkhan Eldukaev, who is accused of kidnapping and attempted murder of Russian pop singer Abraham Russo.

As TASS clarifies, the accused was sent to a pre-trial detention center for two months. According to the case materials, the first assassination attempt was made on January 31, 2004, and the second in August 2006.

Investigators found that businessman Telman Ismailov at the end of January 2004 called Russo to the Moscow restaurant “Prague”, where they began to beat him. They demanded that Russo cancel all performances and also refuse the services of producer Joseph Prigozhin. After this, Russo was forcibly taken to the businessman’s house near Moscow, where he spent several days, eventually agreeing to Ismailov’s demands.

In 2006, the artist survived an attempt on his life. His car was shot from a machine gun on Plyushchikha Street. The singer’s security guard died from gunshot wounds. The wounded singer was able to get to safety and escape.
