About ten trains, mainly transporting coal, were delayed on the Zhaima-Mana railway section of the Krasnoyarsk Railway (KrasRhD). The cause was the derailment of several freight train cars.

By 9:31 local time (5:31 Moscow time), train traffic was restored along one double-track route. “However, there are delayed trains; they mainly transport coal,” the press service of the Krasnaya Railway told Interfax.

Accident happened yesterday, April 1st. Three carriages of a freight train carrying coal, heading from the Chernogorskie Kopi station to Ulan-Ude, derailed. A passenger train 123 Krasnoyarsk-Abakan was walking towards the freight train and crashed into the carriages that had gone off the track. No harm done. A case was initiated under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport). By versions Investigative Committee, the incident could have occurred due to the operation of the brakes on a freight train.
