About 50,000 hacker attacks on domestic Internet resources were repelled in 2022, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“We have never experienced such an invasion before. And fixed and eliminated 1600 incidents. All of them have been investigated, successfully closed, recommendations have been prepared for their further prevention,” Chernyshenko noted (quote by Interfax).
According to him, in 2021 the target of the attacks was the financial sector, and in 2022 the public sector. The Deputy Prime Minister added that “many thousands of different computer vulnerabilities” were also identified.
In 2022, the number of cyber attacks on the public sector in Russia increased by 2-3 times compared to 2021, informed Vedomosti Shamil Chich, Data Analyst at the IZ:SOC Cybersecurity Monitoring Center of Informzashchita.
In addition, the number of leaks of confidential information in the Russian public sector in 2022 increased by almost 1.5 times compared to 2021.
