Turkish sources have posted footage of the arrest of a person involved in the murder of Russian diplomat Andrei Karlov in 2016, this is a woman.
The media reported on August 15 that an “important defendant” in the case of Karlov’s murder was taken into custody during an operation in Istanbul. A Haber TV channel claimed that the wife of one of the criminals had been detained.
In the photo posted by the Sabah edition, no face is visible, but only how the woman is being led to the police station. It is known that the suspect had previously served 9 years for “participation in an armed terrorist organization.”
It is also assumed that she is a member of the organization of preacher Fethullah Gülen (FETO) banned in Turkey.
Karlov was shot dead on December 19, 2016 at a photography exhibition in Ankara. The crime was committed by law enforcement officer Mevlut Mert Altintash, who was liquidated by security forces. Russian leader Vladimir Putin awarded Karlov posthumously the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
