A village in Dagestan will be renamed in honor of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father

The village of Kirovaul in the Kizilyurt district of Dagestan will be named after Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, an honored coach of Russia, the father and coach of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin, on Thursday, November 9.
In honor of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the settlement will be called Manapkala. This initiative was voiced by the village administration, and the federal government supported it.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov died in July 2020 at the age of 57 due to complications from a coronavirus infection. Soon after, Habib, who suffered from depression after the death of his father, published a dedication to him touching video.
After the death of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib Nurmagomedov took the place of his famous father, training young fighters. During one of the training sessions, he sternly reprimanded a fighter who missed a visit. A video of Khabib training his players went viral on social networks.
