A Ukrainian saboteur detained in Belarus spoke about betrayal

Ukrainian Nikolai Shvets, accused of sabotage against a Russian A-50 military aircraft at an airfield near Minsk at the end of February, in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, spoke about how he was abandoned and betrayed, and also about the fact that Ukrainian diplomats did not help him support in the pre-trial detention center and did not help with hiring a lawyer.
“I was abandoned, I was forgotten, I was betrayed… No one came from the embassy. The most important thing is that no one hired a lawyer,” said the saboteur.
Shvets also expressed serious concerns about his fate, claiming that after completing the task, “there was simply no evacuation (to the territory of Ukraine – ed.).” He suggested that they wanted to use it for other tasks and then remove it to avoid witnesses.
“Most likely, they just wanted to use me for the second task, and then kill me altogether, clean me out,” he added.
