A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier received 14 years in prison for firing a grenade launcher at a civilian building in the LPR

Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Mikhail Gomonai received 14 years in prison for firing a grenade launcher at a civilian building; the corresponding sentence was passed by the Supreme Court of the LPR.

Gomonay served in the 115th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He committed his crime in May 2022, firing at an apartment building in Severodonetsk from an under-barrel grenade launcher.

The court found him guilty of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, cruel treatment of civilians, as well as the use of prohibited means and methods when participating in a conflict, and damaging other people’s property in a generally dangerous way.
