In the Lagansky district of Kalmykia, the first open basketball tournament was held, dedicated to the memory of guard lieutenant, holder of the Order of Courage Airat Akuzhaev.
Six teams of educational organizations took part in it. The competition took place in Laganskaya secondary school No. 3 named after. L-G. B. Ochirov, from which the future warrior graduated with a gold medal. Athletes from this school won the tournament.
The second place was taken by the team of Laganskaya secondary school No. 1 named after. I. M. Lyulyakina. The bronze medalists were children from the Northern School named after. T. L-G. Lidzhi-Goryaeva. The best players in four categories were also determined. The basketball players were awarded medals, cups and prizes.
